The Saloni, 2023

'The Saloni' translates to the living room in Greek, and is a project focused on not forgetting parts of Pinelopi's childhood. Her family immigrating from Cyprus to the UK is a large reason for the need to not forget where she came from. This is done through the use of found footage of Pinelopi and her family while still living in Cyprus, the room on show is a replica of her living room in Cyprus. The 10-minute video consists of the found footage along with the conversations of her grandmother, sister and mother talking about particular memories they hold of the time they lived there and particular memories focused on and around their house, the video switches from sound to video and the memories connected to the place or memory shown. Feel free to sit and relax on the sofa to watch the video.

Dinner Table, 2023

This is a part of my BAFA301 submission; the goal is to share parts of my culture through food, making the space feel domestic through objects found in my family's home. On the wall, you will see a handwritten text from my grandmother of the recipe made on the table. This religious icon always looks down at the family dinner when eating, a shoebox which includes family photographs with some photos displayed on a hanging display. Ideally, I would allow my audience to sit and eat at the table.

Memerobilia, 2022
This is my BAFA202 submission in Test Space at Karst. This module required a project on a large scale; I decided to look into knitting because of my grandmother. The knitting carpet includes instructions to remove shoes and sit, and it was constructed through generations of women in my family, grandmother, mother, me and sisters. Found images are placed all over the carpet and continue climbing up a wall; the images have been printed using sublimation and etching on fabric and paper. You will also see buttons which make the carpet seem childlike, and ribbons all around. The goal is to make an inviting place for the viewers to experience a feeling of nostalgia.
